Jogging is a great exercise that you can do if you would like to lose a lot of weight and get really fit in no time. A lot of people have decided to start a jogging routine along with their weight loss plans to see some amazing results. But getting started on this routine does take some preparation. You are not likely to get up and just go run a few miles without some preparation first and building up to running longer distances. Here are some of the things that you should keep in mind when you are ready to start a jogging routine.
Have the determination
First, you need to have some great determination in order to get started. There are a lot of things that are going to slow you down or make it difficult to get going each day. Jogging is hard. It can do a lot of damage to your body and make it difficult to keep going when you are sore or not able to move the next day. But with the right amount of dedication, you will be able to start a jogging routine.
Start out slow
If you have never done a jogging routine, you should start out slow. Maybe go for a minute of jogging and five minutes of fast walking. This gets your body used to the new workout without causing too much strain on the joints. Soon you’ll be able to go longer, but starting out slowly can be nicer for the body.
Build up
Once you are used to the one minute on and five minutes off, build up from there. You can slowly add a minute to the jogging and take away from the walking. Over time, you will build up so that you are able to jog for a few miles at a time without getting horrible cramps or having to give up altogether.
Listen to your body
Any time that you are planning to start a jogging routine, make sure that you listen to what your body is telling you. Your body knows when it is working too hard and you need to take it easy. You might have to take a few days off when you first start to let the body heal. Do some other workouts to keep the muscles loose and working well, but do not push yourself too hard.
